The History

The hotel was born in a magnificent Liberty building from the early-20th century, decoreted by Paolo Mezzanotte, architect of the historic headquarters of Borsa Italiana, Italy’s Stock Exchange in Milan.

Château Monfort has been completely restored, following the precise enhancement and restoration designs in respect of the original architecture features from 1903.

From the outside, today it looks almost like a finely-decorated treasure chest, whilst the interiors bear a modern and imitable design as the result of a careful iconographic study on fairy-tale, lyric and ballet repertoires, evoked with a contemporary touch to create an utterly charming atmosphere. The neo-Romantic style is comprised of enchanted gardens, mysterious secrets and fairy-tale interiors.

Since opening its doors in 2013, Château Monfort has been the only hotel in Milan that Relais & Château has selected for its collection of charming hotels and gourmet restaurants.
